I, Jared Ebert of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety conducted the inspection. Mr. <br />Mike McFarland with GCC Energy, LLC. accompanied me during the inspection. The weather was partly cloudy <br />and cool. Maintenance items are bulletted. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />At the King II mine, the western clear water ditch was observed. This ditch was rip -rapped and stable. <br />GCC has been maintaining the culverts and drainage basins throughout the King II surface facilities area. The <br />culverts and basins observed were largely clear of debris and appeared functional. <br />The sediment pond at the King II mine facilities area was dry. The inlets to the pond were clear and functional. <br />The primary spillway pipe was clear and functional. The pond embankments were vegetated and stable. <br />The north and south diversion ditch at the King I refuse pile area was observed. These ditches are lined with rip - <br />rap and appeared stable. <br />The spring on the south side of the King I refuse pile near the old Tipple Bench was not discharging. <br />The west sediment pond at the King I mine area was holding a small puddle of water but was not discharging.
