As part of DRMS's 2015 midterm review, the applicant has requested
authorization to add approximately 50 acres to the post mining topography for the K Strike Pit
area.
CPW has reviewed the proposed disturbance for the K Strike Pit area, and we do not have any
wildlife -related comments for this application. However, on -the -ground conditions at
Trapper Mine indicate that portions of the reclaimed areas are not being utilized by wildlife,
and CPW would like to meet with representatives from DRMS and Trapper Mine in April or
May, 2016 to identify possible mitigation practices that would encourage wildlife to use these
areas.
CPW appreciates the opportunity to provide comments for Trapper Mine Technical Revision
No. 115. For additional information or to request clarification on CPW's comments, please
contact Brett Smithers, Land Use Specialist at 970-878-6069.
Sincerely,
Bill deVergie, Area Wildlife Mr
Cc.
