Teton Drilling Inc.
Dixie Mine
Clear Creek County, CO
Response To Clear Creek County Planning Dept.
Date: Oct. 9, 2015
Page 4:
• This is a small Limited Impact Operation that will only cut a shallow trenching of
<30 feet and nearby water well indicates the following: Drill depth 400 ft with a
Static Water depth of 100 ft. The trenching operation is well above the water line so
there would be no drainage from this shallow trenching operation.
• While Ute Creek is located about 350 to 400 feet the path of rain water run off is
much longer. Due to this being a very small operation there will never be more than
about 30 feet length of a trench open at any time that is maximum of 10 feet wide and
maximum of 30 feet deep.
• Near surface ore samples were submitted to a lab which confirmed no acidity in the
ore. All ore and waste rock stored in plate steel fabricated containers to ensure no
exposure to ground water and resulting run off. Containers covered with tarps during
any significant rains and times of lengthy inactivity. Area immediately below these
steel containers are lined with a secondary measure of hay bales to filter and stop any
run off or erosion. Additionally, all nearby dry gulches and ditches line with hay
bales to filter and stop any run off or erosion. So there is multiple layers of protection
to ensure nothing ends up in the ground water run off.
• Teton Drilling Inc. will invite the manager of the nearby water treatment plant on
Chicago Creek Rd. to visit site once system is functional. We would invite feedback
on the mining process to ensure proper safeguards are in place.
Page 6:
• Teton Drilling Inc. (Mike Jones) has contacted Clear Creek County regarding Section
703.4 (Clear Creek County Roadway Design and Construction Manual) to setup a
meeting and start moving forward with the permitting process.
• Construction and Storm Water Permit process will begin once a meeting is scheduled
to confirm what is required for the road connection to Ute Creek Rd. Note: Teton
Drilling Inc. (Mike Jones) has initiated contact to start moving forward with this
permitting process.
