Newmont Mining Corporation M■ <br /> Cripple Creek&Victor Gold Mine ■ <br /> Squaw Gulch VLF CCW <br /> NewFields Job No.475.0106.006 <br /> Week Ending Saturday,March 19,2016 <br /> 3.0 STORM WATER MANAGEMENT <br /> Best Management Practices continued to be performed. <br /> 4.0 NEWFIELDS LABORATORY ACTIVITIES <br /> Two samples of Soil Liner Fill (NF-SLF-5-C and NF-SLF-6-C) were collected from the processing <br /> plant. Sieve analysis, atterberg limits and compaction testing will be performed at the on-site <br /> laboratory. Permeability testing will be performed at the NewFields soils laboratory in Elko, <br /> Nevada. <br /> NewFields personnel worked to set up the on-site laboratory so that all sieve analysis, atterberg <br /> limits, compaction and permeability testing may be performed on-site. <br /> 5.0 MEETINGS AND COMMUNICATIONS <br /> NewFields personnel attended the weekly Contractor Planning Meeting (March 15, 2016), <br /> Ames daily safety meetings, NewFields daily safety meetings and the Mine Contractor Safety <br /> Meeting (March 17, 2016). <br /> Jay Moore and Mike Smith were also on site to meet with Tim Cazier with the State of <br /> Colorado. The meeting was held to discuss the expectations for the Record of Construction <br /> Report and drawings. <br /> 6.0 ISSUES AND CONCERNS <br /> On March 14, NewFields personnel inspected an area of the exposed geomembrane in Phase I. <br /> The geomembrane was inspected for damage and fill temperatures were taken to determine if <br /> the material was still frozen. Ames was informed of areas approved for DCF placement. <br /> NewFields will continue to monitor drain cover fill temperatures in the area. <br /> An area of finished grade drain cover to the east of the ADR 2, between the 9450-foot and <br /> 9550-foot elevation, had eroded slightly. NewFields personnel provided CC&V projects a <br /> remediation plan for the area. A NewFields representative will be present when Ames <br /> remediates the area. <br /> Page 4 <br />
