Newmont Mining Corporation •■ Cripple Creek&Victor Gold Mine ■ Squaw Gulch VLF CQA NewFields Job No.475.0106.006 Week Ending Saturday,March 19,2016 1.0 EARTHWORKS 1.1 Underground Working Remediation NewFields personnel observed confirmatory drilling activities and noted any voids that were encountered. Confirmatory drilling was performed at the following underground workings: o UG#6478 (further remediation required) o UG#6514 (further remediation required) o UG#6444 (further remediation required) An excavator worked to remove the shot rock at UG#6617. The working is being excavated and backfilled in accordance with the project technical specifications. Further remediation is required. UG#6520 was backfilled in preparation for the geogrid cap installation. Two layers of geogrid were placed over the working. Prior to the placement of six inches of select structural fill over each layer, as built survey was completed. Compaction was achieved using a smooth drum roller.The working is considered remediated. 1.2 Structural Fill Structural Fill placement continued within the Squaw Gulch VLF Phase II footprint. NewFields personnel inspected fill material and observed placement and compaction procedures to ensure that they were in accordance with the project technical specifications. Ambient and fill material temperatures were monitored and recorded during fill placement to ensure that no frozen material was placed or compacted in the area. The following structural fill construction activities occurred during the shift: y Slope rough grading (cut to fill) in areas bounded by bench stations: o K6+00 to K8+00 and M2+00 to M4+00 o N6+00 to N10+00 and M26+00 to M30+00 o N14+00 to N20+00 and S40+00 to S45+00 o N14+00 to N22+00 and M34+00 to M42+00 o 120+00 to 122+00 and K16+00 to K20+00 Slope rough grading (cut to stockpile) in areas bounded by bench stations: o K12+00 to K16+00 and M4+00 to M10+00 o K30+00 to K34+00 and M22+00 to M26+00 Page 2
