March 31, 2016 C-1984-065/Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine CCW <br /> Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Both cells of Pond A were reclaimed in October and November of 2015. The area has been backfilled, <br /> graded and topsoil spread on top. Straw has been spread over the reclaimed area to help prevent erosion. <br /> Reclamation work was conducted on Ditch 3 and Ditch 4 at the same time as Pond A. Sediment logs have been <br /> placed on the reclaimed Area 1,Area 2 and Area 3 to control runoff(P.4-58ix). The sediment logs were stable <br /> and in good condition at the time of the inspection. <br /> OTHER(SPECIFY): <br /> A piece of metal fencing was spotted southeast of the main gate. Please remove or install the piece of <br /> fencing. <br /> REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15 <br /> Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br /> Diffuse knapweed and thistle were spotted in areas throughout the site. Some of the knapweed was dead <br /> from the weed spraying that occurred the previous year. Knapweed was present along the road and the reclaimed <br /> Portal#1 (Photo 1). Please continue to follow the approved weed control program to monitor and control <br /> these weeds. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> The mine identification signs are posted to the left of the gate. The I.D. signs display the correct <br /> information for the permitee and the Division(Photo 2). <br /> TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06 <br /> Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> The upper and lower topsoil stockpiles were used in the reclamation of the sediment pond and the <br /> associated ditches. Straw bales were placed on the areas to control erosion. The straw bales associated with the <br /> upper topsoil pile were not spread out at the time of the inspection(Photo 3 and 4).
