Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N -Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> N -Processing Waste N -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a complete inspection of the North Thompson Creek Mines conducted on Tuesday the 29th of March, <br /> 2016. The inspection was conducted by Clayton Wein accompanied by Janet Binns,both of the Colorado <br /> Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety(DRMS). The site is inactive,therefore no company representative <br /> present for the inspection. The weather was cloudy and snowing,with a temperature of about 35 degrees <br /> farenheight. The mine site was damp and muddy. There was snow in areas that provided shade. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records for the North Thompson Creek Mines are located at the Garfield County Courthouse located <br /> in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The records check was completed on March 31,2016. The records are in good <br /> condition and well maintained. There are a couple of items that need to be addressed. The records need to be <br /> updated with the DRMS fourth quarter 2015 inspection report. The Insurance Certificate should be <br /> located in Appendix 2-A,the one in the appendix is out of date and should be updated with the current <br /> certificate. See the attached Availability of Records form at the end of this report for more details. <br /> FISH and WILDLIFE—Rule 4.18: <br /> Deer droppings were encountered throughout the site. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10; <br /> Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br /> Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Water from the Mine No. 1 and Mine No. 3 pipes were discharging into the Long Pond . Discharge from <br /> the Mine No.I pipe was at a rate of about 5 to 10 gallons per minute. Discharge from the Mine No. 3 pipe was at <br /> about 1 to 2 gallons per minute. <br /> The Long Pond was functioning as designed during the time of the inspection(Photo 1).
