Newmont Mining Corporation ■ <br /> Cripple Creek&Victor Gold Mine . <br /> Squaw Gulch VLF CQA <br /> NewFields Job No.475.0106.006 <br /> Week Ending Saturday,March 12,2016 <br /> 1.5 Soil Liner Fill (SLF) <br /> SLF processing continued throughout the week at Dump 1. Approximately 61,600 tons of <br /> material has been processed as of Saturday, March 12, 2016. <br /> 2.0 GEOSYNTHETICS <br /> 2.1 Geogrid <br /> Eighty-six rolls of geogrid, from four lots, were delivered to the site. NewFields personnel <br /> observed off-loading of the material and took inventory of the delivery. Samples from each lot <br /> will be taken and sent for testing prior to approval for use. <br /> 3.0 STORM WATER MANAGEMENT <br /> Best Management Practices continued to be performed. <br /> 4.0 NEWFIELDS LABORATORY ACTIVITIES <br /> Two samples of Soil Liner Fill (NF-SLF-3-C and NF-SLF-4-C) were collected from the processing <br /> plant. The samples will be sent to the NewFields soils laboratory in Elko, Nevada for sieve <br /> analysis, atterberg limits, compaction and permeability testing. <br /> NewFields personnel worked to set up the on-site laboratory so that all sieve analysis, atterberg <br /> limits, compaction and permeability testing may be performed on-site. <br /> 5.0 MEETINGS AND COMMUNICATIONS <br /> NewFields personnel attended the weekly Contractor Planning Meeting (March 8, 2016), Ames <br /> daily safety meetings, NewFields daily safety meetings and the Mine Contractor Safety Meeting <br /> (March 10, 2016). <br /> 6.0 ISSUES AND CONCERNS <br /> The mine was moving stockpiled SLF material in order to widen a roadway. There was concern <br /> that the stockpile would be undermined and that rock may have contaminated the clay. <br /> NewFields personnel checked the area and there did not appear to be any weakened slopes or <br /> contamination.This area will be monitored. <br /> Page 4 <br />
