Rock She glhandP/ysicalPr____—H0001-15 HQ0D214 D -15,
FK3004-15 HC006-15 i1C006-15 and (10007-15
Page 1
L Executive Summary
Strength and physical property tests were conducted on rock core spedmens
from boreholes HC001-15, HC002-15, HC003-15, HC004-15, HC005-15, HC006-15,
and HC007-15. The tests carried out for this project include:
i) Uniaxial Compressive Strength,
ii) Bulk Density, and
iii) Specific Gravity
The intent of the testing program is to evaluate the strength and physical
properties of each significant stratum within boreholes HC001-15, HC002-15, HC003-
15, HC004-15, HC005-15, HC006-15, and HC007-15 to provide input for geotechnical
and rock mechanics calculations.
II. introduction
The core specimens were delivered to the laboratory (Geoiab) in decent
condition on two separate occasions by FedEx. The first shipment contained Boxes 1,
2, and 3. When the first shipment arrived at Geolab, the shrink wrap that had been
used to bind the boxes to the pallet had been put under aN three boxes, with Boxes 1
and 2 flipped on their tops. The second shipment contained a single box that was
shrink-wrapped. All boxes were photographed upon arrival to Geoiab and can be seen
in Exhibit C.
The individual samples located within the boxes were pre -selected and marked
with a sample number and top and bottom rounded intervals. Two sample lists were
provided by Mr. Eggy Munkhtogoo, a Geologfst/Geotechnical Engineer with Norwest
Corporation. The sample lists include the corresponding box number, borehole
number, sample number, top and bottom individual sample depths, and a description for
each individual sample. A combined sample list of all the samples shipped can be seen
in Table 1 in Exhibit C.
Upon arrival to Geolab, the core was photographed, measured, and marked.
Thereafter, a series of uniaxial compressive strength tests were performed on the
selected specimens. The testing and specimen preparation were carried out according
to ASTM standard test procedures. The tests were conducted on a SATEC computer
