March 15,2016 C-1994-082/Yoast Mine JHB Pond 14 was snow covered and was not discharging. Pond 13 was discharging clear effluent. Flume was still buried under snow, so flow rate was not measured. Discharge was flowing under snow in the drainage. No pooling or ponding was observed. Pond 13 still has ice and snow cover. The drainage to the north was flowing and ice melt was noted on the north side of the pond. Pond 12 was discharging clear effluent. Flume was also buried under snow, so flow rate was not measured. Portions of the ice on Pond 12 were melting leaving some small areas of open water. The riser was clear of debris, with no impediment to the discharge. Drainage YPM-6-3 was flowing with no pooling or ponding. No obvious gullying was apparent through the snow cover. Pond 11 was ice and snow covered approximately 8 feet below the discharge riser. The pond was not discharging, and the embankment was snow covered. ROADS—Rule 4.03 Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and(6)/4.03.2(5)and(6) Mine roads are not plowed in the winter. There was no evidence of unauthorized travel through the permit area. SLIDES and DAMAGE -Rule 4.12: The slope to the north of Pond 12 was snow covered and appeared stable with no evidence of sloughage or mass movement. Pond 13 slide was partially snow covered with no signs of recent mass movement. No new mass movement was observable in the Pond 13,Pond 14, or Pond 12 drainages.
