Compliance With Mine Plan NA - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> R -Other NA - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> NA -Processing Waste R -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a complete inspection of the Peabody Sage Creek Mine; DRMS Permit No. C-2009-087, operated by <br /> Peabody Sage Creek Mining, LLC. (PSCM). I, Jared Ebert of the Colorado Division of Reclamation,Mining and <br /> Safety(Division) conducted the inspection. Mr. Brian Watterson with Twentymile Coal,LLC. accompanied me <br /> during the inspection. The weather was partly cloudy and cool on March 2,2016 and clear and cool on March 3, <br /> 2016. The site was covered in a significant amount of snow at the time of the inspection and some areas were <br /> inaccessible. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> A records check was conducted at the mine office at the Foidel Creek Mine on March 3,2016. The CDPS <br /> discharge permit has been updated and PSCM is no longer monitoring the discharge at Pond 004 as a discharge <br /> point but instead are monitoring points 005 and 006 which are the two spoil springs above the ponds. According <br /> to Jerry Nettleton,the County special use permit for the mining and hauling of coal at the site has been renewed <br /> but they are waiting for the final paperwork. <br /> One item will need to be addressed: <br /> The bond document is out of date. Please update the records to contain the most recent bond document. <br /> This is a Coal Self-Bond Increase/Decrease Rider for a Federal Mine. The Division received this <br /> document on March 6,2014. <br /> BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.14 <br /> Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br /> Steep Slopes 4.14.2,4.27;Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> No backfilling and grading work has recently been done at the site. <br /> Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7 <br /> Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br /> Page 2 of 9 <br />
