• §2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING
ACTIVITIES - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND
RECLAMATION PLANS.
2.05.6 Mitigation of Surface Coal Mining Operation Impacts. (cont'd.)
(6)(a)(ii)(A) ( Cont'd.)
presently not considered aquifers or renewable resource lands.
Additional groundwater investigation of Renewable Resource Lands and the other
potential colluvial /alluvial deposits were performed during the summer 1985. Shallow
monitoring wells were installed employing auger drill methods, 2- to 4 -inch PVC casing,
and lithologic sampling. See Map No. 4 -1 for locations of shallow monitoring wells.
Although similar in geomorphic characteristics, the presence and nature of groundwater
was ascertained in these smaller deposits. During monitoring well installation, the
degree of development of aquifer characteristics was determined. Specific areas
investigated were lithology, degree of sorting, nature of fluvial influence, field
permeability testing, an water quality.
No mining is scheduled during this permit term therefore areas of potential
• colluvial /alluvial deposits will not be undermined. To date, no impacts to renewable
resource lands have been noted as a result of mining beneath such lands.
Twenty -six (26) buildings or structures have been identified within the C -81 -038 permit
area as depicted on Map 9 -7. The structures are ranch - recreation use oriented and the
applicants well field and tank.
0 PR -04 -138- 08/10
4 FoRevcD
I/IV/I
