Several years of
monitoring indicated a range of depth
to water table from the ground surface
between 4 and 42 ft.
The alluvial/colluvial sediments are
recharged by direct infiltration of
precipitation and snowmelt and from lo-
cal streams during the wet part of the
season.
r~
L
/ Groundwater is of good quality, calci-
~ ~ / um-bicarbonate type with a range of to-
C~~~ 5 QL (~ tal dissolved solids between 200 and
J / '~I w~,~Q~ 400 mg/ 1 .
CP ~~UV ~zd~~Co/%v
Exact characteristics of the Renewable
/'~,,,,,.,9/~ ~S Resource Lands along East Roatcap and
a~ , at the Morrell Cow Camp area are not
known, but surface indications of geo-
morphology, soils, and vegetation, show
similarities to the Steven's Gulch
area.
Undermining of any of these Renewable
Resource Lands will not occur during
the first permit term. Rased on exist-
ing information, CWI proposes partial
extraction subsidence control measures
below these areas in future permit
terms. Additional data and associated
analysis may revise this proposed al-
ternative.
Generally, localized areas of colluvi-
al/alluvial deposits not considered Re-
newable Resource Lands are located
within the permit area. Isolated from
present stream drainages, these areas
have probably not undergone the selec-
tive transport and sorting of sediment
afforded by the fluvial process and are
Added 12/26/84
Revised 10/01/87
137
