§2.04 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING
ACTIVITIES MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR INFORMATION ON
ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES.
2.04.3 General Requirements: Site Description and Land Use Information.
(2) (b) (i) ( Cont'd.)
Waste disposal area
Two soil types Torriorthents/Rock Outcrop and Cerro stony loam.
Torriorthents/Rock Outcrop, sandstone complex. Capability
subclass VIIs, non -irrigated. Adapted species consist of wheatgrass
and ricegrass. Grazing potential is restricted for livestock. Soils are
best suited for wildlife habitat, and used as winter range by mule
deer. Recreation potential is moderate due to rock outcrops.
Building site development potential is not rated for these soils, but
considered to be severe. These soils are unsuited for cropland due
to surface stoniness and slope and;
Cerro stony loam, 10-35% slopes. Capability subclass VIIS,
nonirrigated. Native vegetation consists of western wheat grass ,
big sagebrush, Gambel oak, serviceberry, pinyon and juniper.
Because of surface stoniness and slope, the soil is unsuited to
crops, but is utilized for recreation and livestock and wildlife
grazing. Building site development is severe due to the slope,
shrink -swell, and low strength characteristics of the clayey soil.
TR -60 2.04-6 12/2015
