§2.04 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING ACTIVITIES --
MINIM[TM REQUIREMENTS FOR INFORMATION ON ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES.
• 2.04.7 Hydrology Description.
(1) (b) (Cont'd .)
Localized Alluvium-Colluvium
Localized deposits of colluvial material reworked by fluvial
processes are present within the area of groundwater
investigation, primarily within the Steven's Gulch, West Fork
Terror Creek, and Roatcap Creek drainages. These deposits
are generally 20 to 30 acres in size and provide industrial
(Steven's Gulch), domestic (Long Draw), and agricultural
(Morrell cow camp) water sources. Extrapolation of hydrologic
testing performed during development of the Steven's Gulch
well field (refer to Groundwater Hydrology Appendix, Volune 4)
will be substantiated by additional monitoring well
construction during 1989 in the East Roatcap and Steven's
Gulch drainages. Typically, yields from these sources are
moderate (27 gpm at the Steven's Gulch well field), with
transmissivity values ranging from 187 to 230 sq. ft. per day,
and storage coefficient of 0.0002 (Wright Water Engineering -
Ground Water Hydrology Appendix). Water from wells
penetrating this lithotype are classified as sodium
bicarbonate (Brooks, 1963). Recharge is accomplished from
precipitation and run-off, and water is discharged from
springs or wells.
Revised 10/01/87
Revised 9/21/00
/'~R-lag
/iPP2UVED 31
6/~~fay
