Rip rap will consist of durable, angular rock. Metamorphic and igneous rock and sandstone is <br />acceptable material. Durable rock gives off a ringing sound when struck with a steel hammer. <br />Shales and rounded river rock are not acceptable. <br />Required Rip Rap <br />Diameter <br />Estimated Volume <br />Required <br />1' <br />7 Cubic Yards <br />2' <br />34 Cubic Yards <br />4' <br />61 Cubic Yards <br />Measurement and Payment <br />Measurement for payment will be made by calculating the total number of cubic yards of durable <br />rock rip rap delivered to the site, and placed as specified within Ditch 8 and the feeder channels. <br />Payment will be made at the unit price bid under Item 3 of the Bid Schedule. Payment for this <br />task at the unit price established at Item 3 of the Bid Schedule will be considered full <br />compensation for all equipment, fuel, labor and other items both necessary and incidental to <br />procuring, delivering and placing durable rock rip rap in Ditch 8 and the feeder channels as <br />described in this task. Payment will be made as this task is completed and approved by Project <br />Manager. <br />Task 4. Equipment Rental <br />PROJECT MANAGER may direct that additional activities be accomplished within the Project <br />Area. Additional excavation work by a track mounted excavator may be accomplished on or <br />adjacent to the Sutey Refuse Disposal Area. <br />A Komatsu PC 150 (with thumb) or equivalent 90 FHP machine tracked excavator with operator <br />will be furnished for additional work as needed. <br />All work will be accomplished according to Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, of the <br />"Standard Work Specifications, Colorado Inactive Mine Reclamation Program", 2004. Any <br />additional dozer or excavator work that may arise will be covered under this task. The hours <br />outlined in Item 4 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />Measurement and payment for Item 4 will be -made as per Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental. <br />Payment will be made at the unit price established in Item 4 of the Bid Schedule. The hours <br />outlined in Item 4 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. <br />Task 5. Revegetation <br />All areas disturbed during the project and any other areas specified in these Special Conditions <br />will be revegetated as described below. The areas to be revegetated will include the fill material <br />placed to the west of Ditch 8, the operating surface on the east side of Ditch 8, and the fill <br />material placed immediately down slope of the three (3) feeder channels. If excavation occurs <br />at other areas as a result of Equipment Rental (Task 4), those areas will be revegetated to the <br />standards described below. <br />Special Surface Roughening Specifications <br />Simultaneously with excavation work, certified weed free straw mulch will be applied to all fill dirt <br />at the rate of two (2) tons per acre. <br />7 <br />
