(Lafarge) for the Poly Mann Pit has
been approved (approval letter attached) de facto by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division)
due to the passing of the review deadline. However, in the Division's judgment the revision is substantial
enough as to meet the definition of an Amendment under Rule 1.1(6) of the Mineral Rules and Regulations of
the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for the Extraction of Construction Materials.
Therefore, to change post -mining land use, configuration, and other features as designated, Lafarge must
resubmit the application as an Amendment in accordance with Rule 1.10 governing submission of Amendments
to a permit. This action will be required before Lafarge can ultimately be granted a release for the financial and
performance warranties.
As a reminder, the fee for an Amendment to a 112(c) Construction Materials operation is $2,229, and the
Technical Revision fee already submitted can be applied to that sum.
You may contact me with questions at (303) 866-3567, x8108.
Sincerely,
David Bird
Environment Protection Specialist
cc: Robert Ray — Lafarge
Tony Waldron - DRMS
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation
Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
