t71.1x -ui 3E1 1-1- I
FtECLAMAT I Dhl F''LAhI
The primary reclamation plan for the M & G Pit is for the
establishment of two stabilized lake shorelines with vegetation,
along the banks. The reclamation of the land will take place
concurrently with raining operations as phases are completed. The
north end of the mining area will be backfilled for the possible
development as homesites. An access road will be left between,
the two lakes. Cottonwoods that border both sides of this access
road will be preserved.
Grading
Grading will be carried on to create topography sirniliar to pre -
mining conditions. The shoreline will be backfilled with
overburden and reject material to create a stable surface. The
slope of the lake shoreline will be 3h:lv from existing oround
level to 10 feet below the water surface. A 2h:iv slope will be
formed below 10 feet of the water surface to the bottom of the
pit. No highwalls will be left or, the site. (See Figure E-1)
Backfilling will occur as each mining phase is completed. The
mining timetable is given in Table D-1 of Exhibit D. Grading
will be continuous and uniform, performed in a manner to minimize
erosion and siltation. The washing pond created in Phase I will
not be graded immediately after mining. If it is not completely
backfilled from washing of mined material upon completion of
mining, it will also be graded to the same slopes as the rest of
the pit.
No acid forming or toxic producing material are known to exist in
the overburden or materials to be mined. Refuse will not be
generated on the affected land nor_ wi 11 any .refuse be disposed` n?
n mrr
mig-p rtsde'SS: ce- systems will be protected 'froii
poi:`ltion by p- per grading.
No auger or drill holes will be left after mining of the site.
No addits or shafts are associated with this operation.
Slopes will be graded to be compatible with final land use. No
swimming facilities are included in the reclamation plan. None
of the reclaimed land will be used for agricultural purposes.
E-1
