9. "The Reclamation Plan map indicates that phase 18 will be used for water storage
instead of an open water lake. Is the new plan to install a slurry wall around Phase
18? Please explain this discrepancy? If Phase 18 will remain an open water lake,
please update the reclamation plan map to display with land use instead of water
storage."
Applicant's Response:
The Applicant's proposed post reclamation land use for Phase 18 is open water, not
water storage. Please see revised Exhibit F -Reclamation Plan Map (sheet 7 of 7).
10. "The topography of Cell No. 2 area is not portrayed too much different than the pre -
mining plan maps of this area. The topographic lines are poorly labeled and hard to
read, but the pit slopes appear to remain steep surrounding the "wetlands" and
"backfilled" areas. Also, either large mounds or depressions are indicated to be left
in place surrounding the "backfilled" area and "wetlands." Given the post mine land
use for this area, these contour lines do not coincide with the reclamation plan. In
accordance with Rule 6.4.6 the reclamation plan map must indicate the expected
physical appearance of the affected land, and the map must show the proposed
topography of the area with contour lines of sufficient detail to portray the direction
and rate of slope of all reclaimed lands. Please submit a reclamation map with the
appropriate contour lines indicating the expected physical appearance of the lands
surrounding the backfilled area and "wetlands" of Cell No. 2."
Applicant's Response:
Please see attached revised Exhibit F -Reclamation Plan Map (sheet 7 of 7).
11. Similar to the above item, the proposed topography of the reclaimed expansion area
does not seem to coincide with the mining and reclamation plan...Please re -draw the
proposed contours of this area to coincide (with) the mining and reclamation plan. "
Applicant's Response:
Please see attached revised Exhibit D -Mining Plan and Exhibit F -Reclamation Plan
(sheets 6 and 7of 7).
12. "In regard to item #6 above, please highlight the areas where each of the proposed
seed mixtures will be used "
Applicant's Response:
Please see attached revised Exhibit F -Reclamation Plan Map (sheet 7 of 7).
10/2/2009 4
