C-1982-056, operated by Twentymile
Coal, LLC. I, Jared Ebert of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety conducted the inspection.
Mr. Brian Watterson with Twentymile Coal, LLC. (TC) accompanied me during the inspection. The weather was
clear and cool. The Twentymile Park area and surrounding area has had a significant amount of snow fall in the
recent past. Given this, accessibility to certain areas was not possible and visibility of several mine features was
limited.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The Fish Creek Borehole site 115 was not discharging at the time of the inspection. According to Mr. Watterson,
TC may need to re -imitate pumping and treatment of mine water at the Fish Creek Borehole site in the future.
The 6MN reservoir was holding water and appeared to be receiving water from the mine. The embankment was
snow covered but appeared stable.
The mine is pumping water to the Area 1 Pond. At the time of the inspection, the water level of the Area 1 pond
was not enough to discharge into Pond D.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
TC is currently in the middle of a longwall move in the Wadge Seam. In the Western Mining District, they have
finished mining in the 13LT longwall panel and are moving the longwall to the 12LT panel. Also, continuous
miners are conducting development mining in the Wolf Creek Reserve. According to Mike Berdine, TC was
conducting the development mining for the 10 East panel gate road at 96+00, and the tailgate road 81+00 at the
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 9
