C. Project Description. Describe all aspects of the operation including mining, milling, and exploration methods, materials,
equipment, worfdorce, construction and operation schedule, power requirements, how clearing will be accomplished, topsoil
stockpile, waste rock placement, tangs disposal, proposed number of drillholes and depth, depth of proposed suction
dredging, and how gravels will be replaced, etc. Calculate production rates of ore. Include justification and calculations for
settling pond capacities, and the size of runoff diversion channels.
A 20,000 pound excavator will be utilized to excavate granite pegmatites that likely contain collectable amazonite+quartz
crystals. The excavator will first remove any available topsoil and stockpile it on one side of the trench for reclamation.
The excavator will then be used to mine overburden in order to access the productive bedrock. The removed overburden
will be stockpiled on the other side of the active trench. The crystal excavation will be done using hand tools(sledge
hammers, shovels, prybars, chisels, rakes and screwdrivers).A skid steer front end loader will be on-site to manage
temporary dump piles.Temporary dump piles will be constructed along the side of the excavation for easy reclamation.
All ore will stored in pick-up trucks and taken off site daily.A 45 degree or less slope will be maintained at one end of the
trench as an excapeway at all times.Ore production rates are unknown as this is an exploration project.Fuel for the
machines will be brought on in an as-needed manner and will not be stored on site.On an interm basis all trences will be
re-filled and seeded with US Forest approved seed mixtures to stabelize slopes and minimize erosions(silt fences will
be use as necessary).Safety fencing will be installed around all active trenches for the safety of the public and wildlife.
No more than three 100 foot active trences will be mined during any one mining project. All open trenches will be fenced
while not being actively excavated to minimize hazards to wildlife and the public.
During operations a crew of 3-6 people will be on site to manage activites and collect crystals.
D. Equipment and Vehicles. Describe that which is proposed for use in your operation(Examples:drill, dozer, wash plant,mill,etc.). Include.
saes,capacity,frequency of use,etc.
20,000 pound excavator(model Case CX80,Bobcat E85,or equiolent)
Skid Steer front end loader
Pick-ups for travel
Hand tools as described above(hand tools wil not left on-site unattended).
E. Structures. Include information about fixed or portable structures or facilities planned for the operation. Show locations on the
map. Include such things as living quarters,storage sheds,mill buildings,thickener tanks,fuel storage,powder magazines,
pipelines, water diversions, trailers, sanitation facilities including sewage disposal, etc. Include engineering design and geotechnical
information for project fames, justification and calculations for sizing of tanks, pipelines and water diversions, etc.
Sanitory facilities will include a temporary outhouse with Waste disposal bags that will be brought off-site daily.
V. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION MEASURES(SEE 36 CFR 228.8)
A. Air Quality. Describe measures proposed to minimize impacts on air quality such as obtaining a burning permit for slash disposal
or dust abatement on roads.
If more space s Needed le Jill wt•Gloat oflyfw.ie .use ealkirwd sheets owl earth fancy
