Aerial photos were
collected by Harry Ranney of DRMS on 1/26/2016.

The mine is a reclaimed surface mine. As such no mine personnel remain on the site. Access roads throughout
the mine site are not plowed during the winter months. Activity is limited to water monitoring in the winter
months. The mine site is snowcovered with a considerable snow pack.
FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18:
Few animal tracks are noted throughout the reclaimed mine. Some tracks can be seen leading to Stock
Tank T-18, as well as the top of the ridge near drainage 005-E1, and SP-2006-3.

Based on visible fences protruding through the snow pack, the snow depth is estimated t be 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 feet
deep. Taller grasses and shrubs still protrude through the snow.

HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
Ponds and stock tanks throughout the reclaimed mine site are frozen and snow covered.

Stock pond T-18 was visible, snow covered and appears to have a frozen pool of water. It does not appear that T-
18 was discharging.
Drainage 005-E1 is snow covered but does not show signs of failure.
T-5 was visible and is frozen and snow covered. No concerns were noted with drainage 006-Gulch.
Pond 006 was frozen and snow covered with no open water observed.
Pond 017 was also frozen and snow covered.
