Natural Soda LLC 2015 Project Status Report &Annual Plan of Development <br /> 4.0 2015 Project Activities <br /> 4.1 On-Site Facilities and Process Description <br /> 4.1.1 General Arrangement <br /> Figure 5 provides an overview of the process flow. <br /> 4.1.2 Lab Operation / Sanitation/ ISO <br /> Laboratory activities in 2015 provided chemical analysis for process control, quality <br /> assurance, and regulatory requirements. <br /> • Plant operators performed process control analyses. <br /> • Chloride levels were monitored by both operations and laboratory personnel on all <br /> USP grades to ensure USP standards were met. <br /> • The USP test for insoluble materials was conducted on a per lot basis by laboratory <br /> personnel and a filter test for insoluble materials was conducted on the dry product <br /> once per shift by operations. <br /> • Pests were controlled with the use of two UV bug lights and rodent traps around the <br /> interior and exterior walls of the plant. <br /> • GMP/ISO/Sanitation training was provided for employees as required. <br /> • FDA, CDPHE, NSF, OMRI, Kosher, FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001 certifications were <br /> maintained. <br /> 4.1.3 Process, Utilities, Facilities <br /> In 2015 NS improved utilities by bringing the WSW-3 water supply well and the WSW-4 <br /> water supply wells online to provide additional water to plant facilities for production <br /> operations. The plant sewage disposal system was upgraded to a larger capacity and <br /> modernized system. In July 2015, NS added a brine filtration system to the plant; this <br /> system has been operated intermittently as needed. The old cooling unit on the south <br /> west corner of the plant was decommissioned and dismantled.
