DRMS Jan2016 Section 2.05.3 (3) of the abridged permit references Appendix 5.1 of the original <br />permit as the definitive information for haul road design. While crossection and width and side <br />slope information are presented in Appendix 5.1, information related to cut and fill and culvert and <br />ditch design referenced on page 5-3 of the abridged permit is missing. Did you mean to cite an <br />additional appendix for culvert and ditch design, possibly Appendix 5-12 for example? <br />♦ Please update page 5-3 of the abridged permit with the correct citation for ditch and <br />culvert designs criteria and submit as revised page. <br />Rule: 2.05.4(2) (b) Reclamation Plan <br />This section of the reclamation Rule 2.05.4 requires a detailed cost estimate of the reclamation tasks. <br />DRMS staff performed an analysis of the bonding status and reclamation cost estimate, determining <br />that no additional bond is required. Please see this information in the findings document associated <br />with this review. <br />Rule: 2.06(3) (4) Special Categories of Mining <br />This is a review of the above cited sections of Rule 2.06 that establishes requirements for Steep slope <br />mining (3) and any variances granted from original contour (4). <br />H. DRMS Jan 2016 Sections three and four of Rule 2.06 are not adequately addressed or <br />referenced in the abridged permit. <br />♦ Please address these two sections of Rule 2.06 in the abridged permit by submitting <br />information to update the abridged permit treating the subjects of steep slope mining and <br />variances from approximate original contour as per Rule 2.06. <br />Rule: 4.07(3) Sealing of Holes <br />This is a review of the requirements for permanent sealing of wells, boreholes and mine entryways. <br />Sealing of holes is treated in Section 2.05.4(2)(g) of the abridged permit and additional well <br />information resides in Appendix 5-13 also part of the abridged permit. Section 2.05.4(2)(g) of the <br />abridged permit states that no openings required sealing and that all exploration holes were plugged <br />as per Rule 4.07. Water monitoring wells were capped or plugged as per rule 4.07. This section also <br />lists wells originally drilled and their current status. Appendix 5-13 treats well information by <br />providing inspection forms, location information and photos. It appears that Rule 4.07(3) has been <br />adequately addressed. <br />I. DRMS Jan 2016 Reviewing Appendix 5-13 as filed in DRMS's content management system DRMS <br />staff discovered an 3 September 2014 letter regarding retention of features at the Carbon Junction <br />Site.
