SPECIFICATION NUMBER: <br /> Climax MolybdenumCONCRETE CONSTRUCTION 03 30 00 SPE <br /> A Freeport-McMoRan Company TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION PROJECT NAME: <br /> CAVR Shaft Closure Project <br /> A <br /> and used in the work, such as, but not limited to; concrete forms, form ties, <br /> expansion joint material, sealants, curing compounds, concrete additives, <br /> embedded items, concrete protective coatings, and any manufactured items <br /> used in the work. <br /> 2. The Contractor shall provide confirmation specifications or mill reports for <br /> steel reinforcement and fabricated embedded items. <br /> C. Concrete Mix Design <br /> 1. Prior to placing concrete, the Contractor shall submit to the Engineer and <br /> Owner a written request for acceptance of the concrete materials and the <br /> concrete mix designs proposed for use. This submittal shall include the <br /> results of all testing performed to qualify the materials and to establish the <br /> mix design is in accordance with American Concrete Institute (ACI) 301, <br /> Section 4. The data submitted shall also include certification that all <br /> material proposed for use in the concrete meets the specified requirements <br /> and all test results, Manufacturer's certification and/or analyses which are <br /> the basis of this certification. No concrete shall be placed until the <br /> Contractor has received such acceptance in writing from the Engineer or <br /> Owner. <br /> 2. The Contractor shall submit to the owner printed recommendations from <br /> the Manufacturer of concrete admixtures. The recommendations shall state <br /> the quantity and mixing requirements of the additives per cubic yard for <br /> each class of concrete specified herein. <br /> D. Fabricated Item Shop Details <br /> 1. Reinforcing Steel: Prior to fabrication or shipment of reinforcing steel and <br /> accessories, the Contractor shall submit to the Owner and Engineer, and <br /> receive approval of shop drawings by Engineer or Owner. Shop drawings <br /> shall indicate bending diagrams, assembly diagrams, splicing and lapping <br /> of rods, shapes, dimensions and details of bar reinforcements and <br /> accessories. Shop drawings shall show all openings and penetrations that <br /> pass through concrete construction. Drawings and details shall conform to <br /> ACI 315 and ACI 318.
