December 28, 2015 C-1982-057/Seneca II -W Mine JHB
ST -18 was visible, snow covered and frozen. No signs of any problems were noted with this stock tank or
drainage 005 -Gulch.
The 006 drainages were snow covered but did not show obvious signs of erosion or land movement.
Stock tank T-5 was snow covered and frozen with no apparent discharge from this stock tank.
Pond 006 is frozen and snow covered.
The spring in PM -2 continues to flow as evidenced by the open channel downgradient from the spring location.
This spring flows to Pond 016. No concerns were noted with PM -3 upgradient from the spring. Nor were there
any obvious concerns with PM2A or PM213.
Stock tanks T-26 and T-27 are frozen and snow covered. There were no obvious concerns with either stock tank.
ROADS — Rule 4.03
Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4)
Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)
Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
Access roads that are visible in the aerial photos have not been plowed. There was no evidence of
vehicular traffic across the mine area. The only road that appeared plowed was the County road to the oil well
located north east of Pond 6.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
Although the mine site is snow covered and has begun to establish a healthy snow -pack, taller shrubs and
grass still protrude through the snow allowing for available browse for wildlife.
The snow fence is visible on the ridge west of PM -41) drainage. (photos 9092 & 9094) A sizeable snowdrift has
already begun to form on the lee side of the fence. It also appears that a snowdrift is forming on the lee side of
LU4 access road in this area. The snow fence placement is an effort to reduce the intensity of runoff from in this
steep drainage in the springtime. At this stage, the snow fence appears to be demonstrating a degree of
effectiveness.in dropping the snow drift higher up in the basin. SCC has fenced the living snow fence area with
elk fence in an effort to reduce herbivory of the transplanted trees.
SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04:
The access road to the warehouse showed no sign of having been plowed recently. No plowing of the
warehouse area was apparent. No activity of the warehouse area was obvious on the aerial photos.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 4
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 3 of 5
