The mine is a reclaimed surface mine. As
such, there are no mine personnel remaining on site. Due to the reclaimed status of the mine, roads are not
maintained or regularly plowed during the winter months. Quarterly hydrologic monitoring is carried out via
snow machine when required.The area gets a considerable snowpack making ground access to the mine site
extremely limited.
The site has a good snowpack established. Portions of the mine appear to have approximately 2 feet or mor of
snow based on the height of snow on the fences. (Snow covering the 2nd wire).
FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18:
There were numerous animal tracks crossing the Pond 5 drainage basin.
It appears that 7 elk were visible along the LU -3 access road east of Pond 006. Photo 9090
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
Although the mine site is snow covered, pond relief stands out in good contrast. Ponds throughout the
mine site ate frozen and snow covered. Significant concerns with the embankments or side slope would likely be
discernable through the contrast.
Stock tank T-20 was visible, though snow covered. The side slopes appear intact with no sign of gullying. Pond 5
drainage basin looks good with no significant erosion visible through the snowpack.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 4
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 5
