•
• •
CRDA 1 and 2 -The 1994 cut volume represents material salvaged from Pond 6 and adjacent to Topsoil pile 6. The 1994 fill volume
and topsoil volumes were not accurately measured but were calculated as the minimum wlume required assuming 12" of overburden
for CRDA 1, 18" of overburden for CRDA 2 and 6" of topsoil. Actual wlumes were greater as indicated by the larger wlumes of
topsoil and borrow material measured during the same project.
CRDA 1 -The 2002 fill volume was calculated as the minimum wlume required assuming 18" of cover over area covered measured
on a digital map. Remaining cover is that required to cover 0.9 acres. The realignment of Coal Canyon and the reclamation of ponds
6 and 10 has a material deficit of 20,640 cubic yards. This material will be borrowed from topsoil pile number 2, the excess material
generated from the realignment of Coal Gulch and reclamation of Pond 11 and topsoil pile number 1.
CRDA 2 -The 2002 fill volume was calculated as the minimum wlume required assuming 18" of cover and 6" of topsoil over the area
covered measured on a digital map. Development of the upper diversion ditch generated approbmately 10,000 cubic yards. The
remaining 13,877 cubic yards were borrowed from Coal Canyon between the upper dip section and the large diameter culverts
located under haul road number 4. The small amount of material borrowed from CBA-1 is not included in yardage estimates.
South Fan -The volumes and areas were taken from TR-01 reclamation estimates. The stockpiles resulting from the construction did
not qualify as topsoil therefore for topsail volumes in the TR are included in this fill volume.
2 West Portals -Volumes and areas were taken from TR-14 reclamation estimates.
Cameo Borrow Area 1 -The 1994 salvaged volume was measured from before and after contours and the topsoil wlume was
estimated. Areas were taken from measurements on topo maps.
Cameo Borrow Area 2 - The 1994 salvaged volume was measured from before and after contours and includes appro~amately 600
C.Y. of material remaining in a temporarystockpile at the site. The 2002 salvaged volume is assumed to equal the estimated amount
of material placed on CRDA-1. The reclamation pond 11 and the work on Coal Canyon is projected to have an excess cut of 9,609
cubic yards which will be utilized for the reclamation of Ponds 6 and 10.
Roads -Roads scheduled for reclamation are included in projections for operations areas.
Existing reclamation -This represents reclamation work done on the site to date. The greater volume of cut and salvaged material
compared to the filled and topsoil volumes indicates the extra volume of material placed on CRDA 1 and 2 in 1994.
Proposed Reclamation -This represents reclamation work yet to be done. The greater wlume of cut and salvage material compared
to the fill and topsoil volumes give a small cushion for extra material.
Table 14-1 Page 3 of 3 07/06
