December 18, 2015
State of Colorado
Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Craig Pit, La Plata County, #M-1976-027
To Whom It May Concern,
Skanska USA Civil West
Rocky Mountain District
Mad PO Box 1660, Cortez, CO 81321
Office 22419 Road G, Cortez, CO 81321
Phone $70 565 8000
Fax $70 565 0188
Web www.skanska.com
Skanska is requesting a Technical Revision to the Reclamation Plan approved by the
DOR in November of 2000. Exhibit F in the Plan shows a map of the pit area upon
final reclamation. This map shows a 15' ramp going into the catchment basin which
the land owner, Phil Craig does not want. Skanska and Mr. Craig propose a 2%
grade to the top of the catchment basin, then steepen the slope to a 4% grade to the
bottom of the basin. These shallow slopes will provide safe access df livestock to the
catchment basin when there is water contained from rainstorms and snowmelt. This
catchment basin will be somewhat smaller in surface area than what Exhibit F shows
and will be approximately 5 feet in depth.
Mr. Craig and Skanska are also requesting that about one half of 1he 2% sloped area
be graveled rather than topsoiled and seeded to facilitate livestock feeding access in
the wet weather and winter times.
Mr. Craig is requesting that Skanska remove 6 large boulders and'7 concrete wall
barriers from the area to be reclaimed and place these outside the it area to be used
by Mr. Craig at a later date.
Please consider these Technical Revisions at your earliest conveniepce since Skanska
is on schedule to begin reclamation work the week of January 4th 2016.
Sincerely,
Skanska USA Civil West RMD, Inc.
tL—
rchluter
Aggregate Production Manager
