Exhibit G — Water Information
1.) The operation is not expected to affect existing surface or groundwater systems. This project
will not have any water requirements for its operation. The only surface water would be
drainage that occurs at the site because of a heavy rainfall. All storm water runoff will be
maintained in the pit area. Because of the arid nature of Eastern Colorado, the site will
generally not be impacted by water. The water table in the Ogallala aquifer beneath this area is
substantially below the surface (approximately 125' deep).
2.) A storm water permit will not be required. Kit Carson County will commit to ensuring that the
storm water will remain on site by constructing a 4 foot berm in the upper North West corner of
the pit.
Exhibit H — Wildlife Information
Common species in Eastern Colorado could include bird species of Cassin's sparrow, chestnut collared
Iongspur, lark bunting, western meadowlark, ferruginous and Swansan's hawks, and pheasants. Small
mammals that might be found include white-tailed and black -tailed jackrabbit, badger, pronghorn
antelope, coyote, swift fox, plains pocket gopher, long-tailed weasel, and several species of mice.
Reptiles might include the western rattlesnake, race snake, western box turtle, and six -lined racerunner.
Other animals and birds common to Kit Carson County could also be found at the site from time to time.
After contacting Aaron Berscheid, Colorado Division of Wildlife Officer, @ 970-354-7317, there is no
endangered species in the vicinity of the gravel pit. Also, noise and human traffic are not an issue with
current wildlife as it is in a remote area and minimal visitation. There is no loss of temporary or
permanent loss of food and habitat as this is all pastureland and surrounding sections are pastureland as
well. This is not considered a migratory route.
Based on visits to the site, no significant wildlife was observed. As this site is also seeded, wildlife should
continue to increase the favorable habitat.
