The inspection <br />was conducted by Clayton Wein of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS). The Coal <br />Ridge No. 1 Mine is inactive; therefore, no company representative was present during the inspection. The <br />weather was clear and breezy with a temperature of 35 degrees fahrenheight. There was approximatly 2 to 3 <br />inches of snow covering the site at the time of the inspection. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />Records for the Coal ridge No. 1 Mine are located at the Garfield County Courthouse located in Glenwood <br />Springs. The records have been kept up to date and are in good condition. For additional information, see the <br />attached Availability of Records form included at the end of this report. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING — Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br />Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br />Backfilling and grading of Pond A was complete by the time of the inspection. Pond A had been re- <br />contoured to the approximate original contour (Photo 1). The upper topsoil stockpile and the lower topsoil <br />stockpile had been used to cover the cells of Pond A and the associated drainages. The areas where the stockpiles <br />had been, have straw bales placed on them.
