December 2, 2015 C-1981-025/North Thompson Creek Mine CCW <br />over. There were no indications of failures in the embankments. <br />- Pond T-1 was impounding water at the time of the inspection. Discharge from the Long Pond was entering T-1 <br />and T-1 was discharging to Pond T-2. The pond was frozen over except at the inlet to the pond and at the primary <br />spillway (Photo 2). The embankments of Pond T-1 were covered in snow, there were no indications of instability. <br />- Pond T-2 was impounding water during the inspection. Discharge from Pond T-1 was entering the pond and the <br />primary spillway for T-2 was discharging. The pond was mostly frozen except at the inlet to the pond and at the <br />primary spillway. The embankments were covered in snow, there were no indications of instability (Photo 3). <br />- During the inspection water from Pond T-2 was being discharged into Pond P9. The pond was frozen over and <br />the embankments were covered in snow. There were no indications of instability at P9. Pond P9 was discharging <br />into the ditch leading to the Refuse Pond. <br />- The ditch leading to the Refuse pond was transporting discharge from Pond P9. The water was exposed in some <br />places, but typically had a thin layer of ice over the water. The water in the ditch was flowing into the Refuse <br />Pond. The amount of water was difficult to determine due to the area before the inlet to the Refuse Pond and the <br />inlet to the Refuse Pond were both completely frozen over during the inspection. The embankment for the ditch <br />was covered in snow, there were no indications of instability or breaches. <br />- The Refuse pond was observed to be impounding a small amount of water. The pond was Frozen over and the <br />embankments were covered in snow. There was no discharge from the Refuse Pond into North Thompson Creek. <br />The embankments had no indications of instability (Photo 4). <br />ROADS — Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The Road at the mine site was completely covered in snow at the time of the inspection. Approximately 2 <br />to 4 inches of snow covered the road depending on the amount of sunlight the area was exposed to. No issues with <br />the road were observed. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />The mine identification sign was visible on the fence next to the entrance gate and in good condition <br />(Photo 5).
