4.3 SPECIES COMPOSITION
Plant species within the proposed reference area were a mixture of those commonly found in
the three native vegetation communities sampled. A mix of graminoids, forbs, succulents,
and woody plants were encountered. Graminoids and woody plants were the most dominant
and frequently encountered in cover sampling, accounting for 87.35 percent of the relative
plant cover. Four woody species, four graminoids, and one forb species comprised the plant
species contributing more than three percent relative cover.
5.0 SUMMARY
Quantitative vegetation sampling of the proposed reference area was undertaken this season
for total vegetation cover, total herbaceous production, and species composition. Tables 1, 2
and 3 characterize the vegetation of the proposed reference area The results of the 2014
quantitative vegetation sampling at the proposed reference area indicate that this area could
serve as an acceptable characterization of vegetation cover, production, and composition to
be achieved in the reclaimed mine site.
Oakridge Energy, Inc.
