One wetland area was documented along the riparian corridor northwest of the Lafarge Brown <br /> property (Figure J-2). The banks of the river in this area are riprapped and channelized in some <br /> areas, especially the north bank. The corridor is dominated by cottonwoods, some of which are <br /> mature and approximately 60 feet in height. The riparian corridor has a sparse understory, which is <br /> mainly composed of coyote willow. <br /> Relationship of Present Vegetation to Soil Types <br /> The U.S. Department of Agriculture — Natural Resources Conservation Service's (USDA-NRCS) <br /> Web Soil Survey was used to identify soils at the site, and to provide details about the soils. Figure <br /> J-3 displays the soil in the vicinity of the Lafarge Brown property. The soil map units and their <br /> relationship with the land use/vegetation types in the vicinity of the Project Area are summarized in <br /> Table J-3. <br /> Table J-3.
