(MT7) Review Memo <br />I have conducted a review of New Horizon Mine permit for compliance with the rules listed below. For <br />each of my assigned sections a brief discussion is provided along with bulleted adequacy review items. <br />The only adequacy item identified in this review relates to the Annual Hydrology Report reporting <br />requirements noted under 4.05.13(1): Groundwater Monitoring. Please let me know if you have any <br />questions. <br />Rule: 2.04.4(1)-(2) — Baseline Cultural/Historic Information <br />Cultural and Historic Resources are addressed in section 2.04.4 of the permit, Map showing locations of <br />archaeological resources is Figure 2.04.4-1 and Surveyed areas shown in Figure 2.04.4-2. The Surveys <br />recorded 12 cultural resource locations all in Tract 1. All of these sites were generally defined as <br />scatterings and none were found be to culturally significant or eligible for protection. <br />Rule: 2.04.5(1)-(3) — General Description of Hydrolo2v and Geolog <br />Permit section 2.04.5 provides the overview of the regional hydrology and geology which meets <br />the required of Rule 2.04.5. This includes: a description of the regional geology in reference to <br />the permit area, a map in accordance with 2.10 providing regional hydrological features and <br />drainage areas, and an adequate characterization of surface and groundwater quality and quantity <br />for this section. Geologic Charaterization is primarily refered to Section 2.04.6 and Hydrologic <br />capabiliy is refered to Section 2.04.7 reviewed below. <br />Rule: 2.04.6(1)-(3) — Geology Description <br />The structural geology has been well defined in Permit section 2.04.6. The materials within the <br />mine disturbance area have been well characterized and suitable materials for reclamation have <br />been identified to be separated and used as cap material. The following hydrological information <br />was addressed in the Permit sections listed. <br />Rule 2.04.6 (1) (a), refers to the relationship between the structural geology and the occurrence, <br />movement, quality and quantity of potentially impacted surface and groundwater.
