Compliance With Mine Plan <br />N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br />Y - Other <br />N - Special Categories Of Mining <br />Y - Processing Waste <br />R - Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />A complete inspection of the King Coal Mine was conducted by me, Robin Reilley, of the DRMS on Tuesday, 3 <br />November 2015. Skies were clear, and temperatures reached the lower 50 -F's. There had been heavy rains the week <br />before. Michael McFarland accompanied me throughout the field inspection of the King I and II surface facilities. <br />We began the inspection at the top of the King I refuse pile and worked our way down. Refuse was being piled at the <br />site and awaited grading and compaction to final slope configuration. King II was inspected after King I. Records <br />were checked the following morning, Wednesdy, 4 November 2015 from 7:45 to 8:45 AM. <br />Mining was taking place at 1S near the State permit boundary and 8W has been partially developed and will require <br />an amendment for extraction. <br />PERMITTING UPDATE: <br />TR -20 Coal Mine Waste for Highwall Backfill <br />o On June 9, 2015, the Division issued a supplemental adequacy item, requesting that GCC develop a sampling <br />plan for further analysis of the acid and toxic forming potential of coal mine waste. A sampling protocol was <br />submitted to DRMS. GCC submitted both an addequacy review 92 and suppplement initial response, and DRMS <br />reviewed and. submitted additional adequacy questions to GCC on 2 November 2015. A request for extension of the <br />decision date to 30 November 2015 has been made. <br />TR -24 Midterm Review Response <br />o The Division issued an adequacy review on 14 June 2015. On 14 July the Division received a response to the <br />June 2015 letter addressing unresolved adequacy items. The Division reviewed this submittal, sent additional <br />adequacy questions to GCC on 26 October 2015. The decision date has been extended to 30 November 2015. <br />TR -25 Surface Water Hydrology <br />o This revision was received 6 July 2015 and found complete on 10 July 2015. DRMS sent adequacy questions <br />on 4 September 2015 and is currently reviewing GCC responses received on 21 October 2015.
