October 21, 2015 C-1982-057/Seneca II -W Mine JHB
The well by the pump house located southeast of Pond 6 is partially excavated and it appears repairs are on-going
in this location.
SCC has replanted junipers and pines at the living snow fence area. SCC has installed a 7-8 foot fence around the
transplanted seedlings to protect them from ungulate depredation. Some pines had already been gnawed and
clipped off. Based on the stripping of the bark at the soil interface, the inspector thinks that porcupine or other
small animals are getting under the wooden snow fence.
REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Cattle were grazing in the north east pasture. This is the area in the stock tank ST -20 and Stock tank ST -
18 area. Stocking rate appeared lite, and animals did not appear to be congregating in one area.
Cattle had grazed in the Pond 6 watershed earlier in the season. Observation of the remaining vegetation noted
that considerable biomass remained after the grazing. Stocking rates appear to have been light that excessive
grazing had not had a negative impact on the reclaimed area.
SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04:
Two Camper trailers were parked at the shop/warehouse area. The campers were connected to the electric
power at the shop area. The inspector did no encounter the hunters during the inspection.
The shop facilities area has been cleaned up of debris & stored items. The area has been graded to allow for
drainage during the winter months. One gray trailer building remains on the site. The Warehouse was closed and
the area around it clean and in good condition. A CAT 956G front end loader, a small D4 dozer, two pick-up
trucks, a small water truck, and a trailer were the only equipment remaining at the shop area.
SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02:
SCC continues to update the mine ID signs to assure that current phone contact information is contained
on the signs.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED NA
OTHER (SPECIFY) NA
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE
No enforcement actions were taken as a result of this inspection.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 4 of 7
