Compliance With Mine Plan <br />N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br />N - Other <br />N - Special Categories Of Mining <br />N - Processing Waste <br />R - Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />A partial inspection of the King Coal Mine was conducted by me, Robin Reilley, of the DRMS on Thursday, 8 <br />October 2015. Skies were clear, and temperatures reached the lower 50 -F's. During the course of two days earlier <br />in the week 1.6 inches of rain fell. There had been recent maintenace along King II West Clear Water Ditch. Tom <br />Bird accompanied me throughout the field inspection of the King I and II surface facilities. We discussed <br />permitting actions, clarifying adequacy questions and map details. <br />Pillaring was recently completed at area 2WSM and GCC will move to areas IS near the State permit boundary <br />and 4L in the northease section of the permit. Production is at capacity. <br />GCC gained lease rights to a fresh water source from the owners of Huntington Ranch for use during the irrigation <br />season, May through September. An additional 20 acre feet may be available during the winter months. This <br />water would be stored for later use. GCC may need an additional 5 acre feet of water. <br />PERMITTING UPDATE: <br />TR -20 Coal Mine Waste for Highwall Backfill <br />o On June 9, 2015, the Division issued a supplemental adequacy item, requesting that GCC develop a <br />sampling plan for further analysis of the acid- and toxic -forming potential of coal mine waste. A sampling plan is <br />being developed. GCC submitted both an addequacy review 92 and suppplement initial response, and DRMS is <br />reviewing. A request for extension of the decision date to 30 November 2015 has been made. <br />TR -24 Midterm Review Response <br />o The Division issued an adequacy review on 14 June 2015. On 14 July the Division received a response to <br />the 14 June 2015 letter addressing unresolved adequacy items. The Division is reviewing this submittal.
