CWDA No. 3
#01349-0001+ Huddleston -Berry
10/14/15 I enrmnrmssring.uc
At the time of our site visit, a small quantity of water was emanating from the underdrain below
the center of CWDA No. 3. HBET also observed a small wet area on the south side of CWDA
No. 3. However, in contrast to previous site visits, only one wet area was observed. Based upon
our observation of these areas periodically over the last year, HBET does believe that the wet
areas reflect some seepage from CWDA No. 3. However, the moisture was clear and as a result,
it does not appear that any piping of material is occurring. The wet area observed this quarter
and areas observed during previous quarters likely reflect dewatering of the gob. The wet areas
will continue to be evaluated over time. However, in general, no evidence of instability of other
adverse conditions were observed at CWDA No. 3.
General
In general, based upon the results of the recent VWP monitoring data and our observations at the
site, HBET does not believe that there is any reduction in the stability of CWDA No. 3.
Continued quarterly monitoring of piezometers is recommended.
We are pleased to be of service to your project.
