This was not considered a major release.
Western Clean Up Corp confirmed that some of the drums contained a petroleum
substance that had leaked through several of the drums into the ground.
It is unknown how long the drums had been sitting at this location, or where they
had come from. However, the back access road to the site off of Wilson Ave. has
been closed off and this should prevent any future unauthorized access and
unapproved trash disposal on the site.
Western Clean Up Corporation removed 10 drums along with the contaminated soil
and 21 tires. See the attached proposal, photos, and invoice from Western Clean Up
Corporation.
Problem/Possible Violation: Trash /refuse on site
Corrective Action: A large 30 Yard Rolloff container was obtained by Gallegos
Sanitation and used to dispose of the trash/refuse on site. All areas where trash had
been illegally dumped were located and cleaned up, along with old concrete forms,
pallets and blankets. It is unknown how long some of the trash had been sitting at
this location, or where it had come from. However, the back access road to the site
off of Wilson Ave. has been closed off and this should prevent any future
unauthorized access and unapproved trash disposal on the site.
