upstream from the Foidel Creek Mine respectively. Foidel
Creek at Site 008 is fed by surface runoff and coal spoil
leachate springs on the historical Eckman Park/Energy Fuels
coal mining area. Water quality parameters at these sites
were within previously established ranges in 2014 with any
exceptions noted in item 12 below.
Typical flow patterns were exhibited in Fish Creek at sites
16A, 302, 1002, 27a, and 1003. Water quality parameters at
these sites were within previously established ranges in 2014
with any exceptions noted in item 12 below.
Typical flow patterns were exhibited in Trout Creek at sites
301, 69 and 1005. Water quality parameters at these sites
were within previously established ranges in 2014 with any
exceptions noted in item 12 below.
Typical flow patterns were exhibited in Middle Creek at Site
29. Water quality parameters at this site were within
previously established ranges in 2014 with any exceptions
noted in item 12 below.
The Wadge overburden and the Twentymile Sandstone are
the two aquifers most likely to be affected by mining. If the
workings are developed to the maximum extent approved, the
monitoring locations of both formations will be upgradiant
from mine workings. The following wells serve as the Foidel
Creek Mine's ground water points of compliance: 97013TM
10. Basic Standards
(Twentymile Sandstone), 008-77-58 (Wadge overburden),
(Interim Narrative
CWQCC regulation
008-AU3 (Fish Creek alluvium), 008 -AT -1 (Trout Creek
Standard) for Ground
41.5.C.6
alluvium), and 008 -AV -2 (Foidel Creek alluvium.) The
Water
mine's annual hydrology reports contain long-term data from
these wells. The Division compared the water quantity and
quality data collected in 2014 to the maximum, minimum and
average levels reported for each monitoring site and the
Table 3 numeric standards for ground water for agricultural
use. See item no. 17 for the results of the Division's review.
The ground water point of compliance well for the Trout
