September 22, 2015 C-1981-033/13ear Mine LDS
The site was accessible via a road from the south side of the highway. Concrete barriers were placed
across the road to prevent vehicle access to a steel bridge across the river. A structural assessment of the bridge is
pending, however it is obvious that the timbers laid across the steel frame are in poor condition and that the road
has been eroded at either end of the bridge to the point where vehicle access would be hazardous.
REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
The site was well vegetated away from the areas covered in impermeable material. Noxious weeds were
not evident.
SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
The 1997 landslide shown on drawing 17, for example, was very obvious. There were no signs of any
recent slide activity.
SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02:
The site was well marked at the access point. Permit boundary signs were also in place at locations along
the river bank, but the sign at the eastern most point was missing (the t -post was still in place).
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED
n/a
OTHER (SPECIFY)
n/a
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 3 of 11
