The Bear Mine permit was revoked on 6/6/2013. The inspection was not accompanied by <br />representatives of any other entity. The weather was fine. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />There was ample evidence of wildlife across the site (for example: tracks, droppings, trails, cropped <br />vegetation) <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />The North Fork of the Gunnison River was running at around the seasonal average (-150 cfs), per the <br />USGS streamflow station just upstream. <br />There was a small amount of water in the sediment pond, with rushes growing in that area. The <br />embankment and emergency spillway were sound. The primary spillway was partially blocked at the outlet and <br />blocked by a closed gate at the inlet. <br />The treatment pond was holding dark brown water well above the level of the river. <br />Water was seeping from the toe of the landslide. Rushes were growing at the seep location. Water flowing <br />from it was the same color as that in the treatment pond. <br />A PVC cased well into the alluvium south east of the bridge was covered with a cap.
