Some of the vegetation through this area had exposed
roots and was falling into the creek channel (photo 4). The reference area was not disturbed by mining activities
and the creek erosion is considered normal.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
The vegetation in the RSRDA borrow area was in good condition. The rabbit brush and broom snakeweed
were in full bloom. There were no signs of erosion.
REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
The north part of the greasewood reference area on the east side of Coal Creek Road had several hundred
square feet disturbed from the rain event of July 7-8 (see Aug 2015 inspection report). Water runoff from the
adjacent cliff wall left sediment deposits and created small rills through the area (photo 5). The rest of the
reference area was in good condition and did not appear to be heavily grazed by wildlife.
The shadscale reference area was in good condition. The vegetation was still green and looked healthy (photo 6).
The area did not appear to be heavily grazed by wildlife.
Some of the vegetation was starting to resprout in the pond 11 area that was flooded in the July 7-8 storm. Ms.
Hammond said that a reclamation contractor is expected to submit a bid in the next week for re -seeding the area.
SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02:
The mine identification signs were in place on the Coal Creek Road, the North Decline area and by the
guard shack.
Boundary markers were in place for the greasewood reference area, the shadscale reference area, substation A and
the RSRDA borrow area.
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE
No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 3 of 5
