Alameda Parkway, Ste. 4600
Aurora, Colorado 80012
303.739.7166
April 21, 2015
Mr. Richard K. Engle & Edward L. Krantz
3039 W 22"d Ave.
Denver, CO 80211-4628
Dear Sirs:
City of Aurora
As you may be aware, the City of Aurora recently purchased the property known as the
Superior Sand and Gravel's S-4 Pit, Permit number M-1979-189, aka the Rio Grande
Sand & Gravel Company mine. The City does not intend to continue mining operations
on the property, but rather to complete the reclamation of the site and restore it as City
open space.
In order to complete the reclamation begun by Rio Grande Co. the City has applied to the
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) to succeed Rio Grande
Co. as the reclamation permit holder for the S-4 pit. As a formality the City (Applicant)
is required by the DRMS to obtain Structure Agreements from the owners of any
permanent, man-made structures within 200 feet from the affected land stating that the
city will reimburse the owner for any damages. The work being done should not
adversely affect any structures in the vicinity, but this agreement protects your interests.
The structure that the city has identified is listed on the enclosed Structure Agreement.
We respectfully request that you read, complete and return the Structure Agreement to
the city of Aurora. If you do not already have a Notary Public, you can visit a local UPS
Store for Notary services.
If you have any questions regarding the property or the Structure Agreement, please
contact Ani Jones at 303-739-7153.
Sincerely,
Ani Jones
Special Projects Coordinator, Open Space & Natural Resources
Aurora Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department
