September 16, 2015 C-1984-065/Coal Ridge No. I Mine CCW <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The road at the mine site was dry during the inspection and in good shape. Diffuse knapweed has grown <br />along the sides of the road, please spray for these this fall. (Photo 1) <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />The reclaimed benches are well vegetated and stable (Photo 2). The wet spring has been beneficial to the <br />native plant species as well as weeds, Diffuse knapweed and Russian knapweed. Diffuse knapweed was spotted <br />on both the upper and lower bench, Pond A, and along the road. Russian knapweed rosettes were spotted on the <br />upper bench and the topsoil stockpile by the Mine entrance. Please spray for these this fall. <br />TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06 <br />Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />The topsoil pile at the entrance was stable. There were no rills or gullies forming on the pile. The topsoil <br />pile needs to be cleaned up, wood debris, loose weed barrier and fencing, and a crumpled culvert were on or <br />near the pile (Photos 4 and 5).
