No mine personnel accompanied the inspector <br />on site. The inspector checked in with Scott Cowman of SCC when going on the property and also checked out <br />with him when leaving the property. The Mine is a reclaimed surface mine. The weather was partly cloudy, <br />windy, with intermittent rain showers. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />Archery and Muzzle loading hunting season were active at the time of the inspection. Prior to accessing <br />the mine site, SCC personnel, Scott Cowman, informed the inspector that there were no hunters expected to be <br />hunting on the permit area. Aside from a hunting camp located to the west of the access road, and outside the <br />permit area boundary, no other hunters were observed. <br />A hawk, perhaps a rough shouldered hawk, was observed soaring and hunting around pond 10 area. There were <br />signs that cattle had been at the Pond 10 area recently, but were no longer in this area at the time of the inspection. <br />Approximately 10 black cow/calf pairs were grazing on the west side of the north pit. Three cow/calf pairs were <br />observed in the neck pit area. Several Turkey vultures were soaring around the ST -I area, though no obvious <br />carrion was seen or smelled. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9;: <br />The flume at pond 10 has been installed. This flume is 5 to 6 feet in width. The discharge from pond 10 <br />is low and approximately <0.I on the staff gauge. Flow looked level across the bottom of this large flume. There <br />was vegetation in the Pond 10 riser that needs to be cleared out. <br />Pond 12A was holding a stagnant pool of water.
