King Coal II Adequacy Review of TR -25 <br />Reviewed with respect to the following rules <br />Sections 2.05.3(4) Operation Plan and Permit Area; 2.10 maps and Plans; 4.03.1 <br />Roads, Drainaae, Culverts; 4.05.2 Water Ouality Standards; 4.05.3 Conveyance of <br />Overland Flow and 4.05.9 Impoundments <br />Rule: 2.05.3 (4)(a)(i)(ii0Operation Plan/ Permit Area <br />The requirements of these sections of the Rule 2.05.3(4) have been adequately met in the <br />permit. <br />1. Please verify the following elevations: <br />a. Bottom of sediment pond <br />b. Top of sediment pond embankment <br />2. Please indicate if there will be any additional surface disturbance that was <br />not previously permitted. <br />3. The cover letter included in R25 submission indicates that the detention pond has the <br />necessary volume to store the 25 year 24 hour storm event. Please also indicate <br />the modeled volume of rainfall. <br />4. The sediment cleanout level of 7229.25 ft. called out in the Executive Summary of <br />Appendix 11 (1) changed to 7231.67 ft. as per Map King II 007. Please update the <br />Executive Summary to reflect changes to: <br />a. Maximum sediment level and its acre feet of storage capacity <br />b. Sediment clean out level and associated acre feet of storage capacity. <br />5. Please address La Plata County concerns (letter enclosed) expressed in <br />their 24 July letter to DDRMS regarding: <br />a. Sediment removal from pond at 60 % of max level, (update executive <br />summary) <br />b. Disposal and handling methods of sediment removed from pond. <br />Rule: 2.10 Maps and Plans <br />To adequately meet the requirements of this Rule please provide the following map updates. <br />Maps General <br />9. Regarding the three maps (007A, 007B and 007C) provided with the application; <br />please update each of these maps to include the following information: <br />a. Call out the contour interval (e.g. Contour interval is 2'). <br />b. Scale: 1:1200 (or whatever it is). <br />10. Please explain why survey coordinate points are called out on the right <br />side of each map.
