EXHIBIT G — Water Information <br />The following information pertains to the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology Permit # <br />1974-069 for Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc.; Larimer Pits. <br />This addition to the existing sand and gravel operation is not expected to directly affect surface <br />or groundwater systems other than through dewatering which will take place during mining. All <br />evaporation from the preceding ponds and consumptive uses from mining and concrete <br />production have been previously addressed by the applicant with a permanent augmentation <br />plan. There are no known wells within 600 feet of the draw down that have not previously <br />released Loveland Ready -Mix Concrete, Inc. (LRM) when the current well permit was obtained. <br />No pollution problems are anticipated. All storm water and process water is contained on sight, <br />there are no direct discharges to the Big Thompson River. <br />Reclaimed ponds on the south side of the Big Thompson River have been augmented under Case <br />No. W-7412 since 1977. All other ground water ponds and previously permitted cells in the <br />permit area are augmented under Case No. OOCW-142. Well Permit number 69035 F is in place <br />for the current operation. <br />A Substitute Water Supply Plan will be used to replace depletions from the dewatering of cell 21 <br />until it is lined and approved by the State. A separate well permit will be obtained for the <br />dewatering of cell 21 upon approval of this amendment. <br />Based on the attached memorandum prepared by Bishop -Brogden Associates, three (3) <br />monitoring wells have been installed in the pit #21 area. Measurements will be taken monthly <br />for the first twelve (12) months with subsequent readings being taken quarterly after the initial <br />twelve (12) month readings to insure that neighboring properties are not impacted. <br />The aquifer around the lining in Cell 21 has been studied to investigate if any measures need to <br />be taken to mitigate final groundwater impacts the lined pit may create. The "Loveland Ready <br />Mix-Hydrogeologic Investigation of the Proposed Cell 21 Gravel Pit at the Larimer Pit Site" <br />Memorandum prepared by Bishop -Brogden Associates is provided as Attachment G-1. This <br />report addresses groundwater issues created by dewatering and lining of Cell 21. <br />Included as a part of this Exhibit is the analysis that will be required for the Substitute Water <br />Supply Plan for cell 21 and the Well Permit application prepared by Bishop Brogden. As can be <br />seen in the analysis, an average approximately 8.5 acre-feet of water per day will be needed <br />within the first 10 days after dewatering has commenced. <br />In order to meet the needs of the SWSP, LRM plans to use an available 95 ac -ft of leased fully <br />consumable effluent from the City of Loveland along with water stored in LRM storage Ponds 1 <br />and 2, decreed in Case No. 98CW431. LRM has a total storage capacity of 476 acre -ft in which <br />all water placed into storage, in priority, is available for the purpose of augmentation, exchange, <br />and substitute supply. This water can be used to replace the larger quantities needed to balance <br />out river returns during the first months after dewatering stops.
