ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW OF MINING ACTIVITIES <br />Park County Planning Department <br />P.O. Box 1598, Fairplay CO 80440 <br />719 836 4254 (T), 719 836 4351(F) <br />The following items are required for review by the Planning Director or designee before <br />commencing any Mining activities. Mining is defined as an enterprise or operation <br />involving underground or surface excavation for the purpose of extracting ore, mineral, <br />rock, or other earthen materials, together with other activities often associated with <br />mining, such as but not limited to, exploration, development, and milling, concentrating, <br />refining, or other procedures designed to separate valuable products from waste material. <br />Within ten days after receipt of these items, the Planning Director or designee shall make <br />an administrative determination as to whether or not the proposed operation meets all <br />applicable requirements of these Land Use Regulations, has been issued all necessary <br />State permits, and requires any additional 1041 permitting. This determination shall be <br />given to you in writing and may be appealed to the Board of County Commissioners. <br />❑ Any permits required by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and <br />Safety. These will vary according to the scope of the proposed operation. <br />❑ Any permits required by the Colorado Division of Public Health and the <br />Environment related to air and water quality. <br />❑ If the operation is to occur on Federal land, evidence that all requirements of the <br />land management agency have been met. <br />❑ A narrative description of the proposed operation, including the materials mined <br />for, the method of extraction, the proposed length of the operation, and a <br />description of any on-site processing. The description should also include the <br />number of people engaged in the operation, the hours of work, the estimated <br />number of vehicle trips per day, and methods for disposal of all waste generated. <br />❑ A site plan showing all existing and proposed aboveground activities, structures, <br />and improvements. The site plan should include lighting, signs, and distances <br />from any nearby residential structures. <br />The above items have been reviewed, and the proposed operation is in apparent <br />compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal requirements. <br />: Planning Director or Designee <br />
